Project Manager

Accountabilities

The position holder is in general accountable for the accomplishment of following tasks:

• Manage the delivery phase according to the agreed project plan and the defined CHAMP methodology to reduce overall risks and issues and to maximize productivity.
• Regularly track progress of the activities and the deliverables to ensure that they are completed on time and to the required quality levels
• Monitor all progress and take mitigation actions to avoid risks being triggered and take recovery actions if the risk occurs.
• Manage the project under the agreed plan and scope; validate all scope changes within the CHAMP project governance structure.
• Raise Change Request Forms as required and obtain appropriate customer and internal approvals, in line with project governance
• Update the project plan as needed and manage scope changes so that profit margins are maintained or increased;
• Represent the project externally and internally by communicating and reporting on project status to customer and internally to the CHAMP project governance structure.
• Produce regular and accurate progress reports and present the project status at appropriate Project Review Boards.
• Ensure all project meetings are documented to reduce miscommunication risk and ensure traceability of decisions
• Identify, analyze and quantify project risks. Review risks regularly and ensure that steps are taken to mitigate them;
• Deploy and manage appropriate project team(s) and contributors according to project requirements.
• Provide motivation and direction to the Project team and contributors and monitor performance;
• Manage the project budget including Profit & Loss during the full life cycle of the project to ensure that the budget is met;
• Manage 3rd party suppliers, both internal and external, in order to secure the delivery targets;
• Manage the customer to ensure the customer fulfils its obligations;
• Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project life and support the Account Manager in ensuring that CHAMP meets its commercial objectives for the project and develops its relationship with the customer;
• Obtain customer acceptance of the project deliverables and conduct customer satisfaction survey at end of project;
• Ensure that an effective transition to CHAMP operations is achieved and conduct a review of any lessons learned.
• Ensure that a proper handover is made to the CHAMP Service Manager at the end of the project.
• When requested support the Sales teams during the pre-contract phases (qualification, proposal and contract) with inputs to ensure that the offers and contracts being proposed are realistic and achievable in delivery from a cost, quality, and time standpoint. Generate an appropriate project plan associated with the bid
.
 

Knowledge and skills

Ideally 3 years or more in Project Management having managed with a proven Project Management methodology one or more medium/large sized critical projects with full budget control in a commercial environment.
• Ideally 5 years in IT solutions provider environment with knowledge of CHAMP-like products and underlying technologies.
• Competent in MS Office, messaging, on-line purchasing, web-conferencing systems.
• Competent in project management tools and in MS Project.

• University degree or equivalent.
• Formal project management training and certification - PMP certified not mandatory, but recommended.
