Product Support Specialist
Purpose
Perform application administration, application support procedure development, statistics analysis and reporting according to CHAMP Cargosystems standards and procedures and customer requirements as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review monthly billing data collection and invoices issued to customers
• Produce monthly usage reports of messages exchanged with third party suppliers to validate invoices issued by third party to CHAMP
• Continuously identify process improvement opportunities for billing and report data collection and collation for the purpose of reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy
• Organize customer and third party contracts and update billing processes / usage reporting according to changes.
• Analyze new customer requirements for implementation in the CHAMP Global Cargo Community System (GCCS) and associated Web applications
• Document customer requirements and prepare high-level project outlines
• Prepare and manage customer partnership configurations within the GCCS
• Maintain and modify configuration files for Web applications
Education & Qualifications
University degree or equivalent preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or similar.
Experience
• At least 3 years experience in deployment or support of application software
• A working knowledge of electronic information exchange and messaging systems
Knowledge & Skills
• Understanding of UNIX fundamentals and file systems
• UNIX shell (sh, ksh, bash) scripting and basic programming skills
• Ability to analyze scripts, configuration files and application software on UNIX systems
• Understanding of various communications protocols
• Operating knowledge of Microsoft Access
• Coordinating multiple technical streams of work to produce a complete solution
• Expert understanding of system integration and hardware
• Ability to analyze customer defined requirements and draw conclusions, create or recommend solutions
• Understanding of the concept of IT security and its application to computer systems architectures
• Understanding of SITA and CHAMP Cargosystems methodologies and practices
• Understanding of trade-offs and risks with technical choices
• Ability to use a team approach to solve problems when appropriate

Entity overview
The primary responsibility of the Distribution Services unit of CHAMP Cargosystems is to provide electronic data exchange amongst the various parties involved in the movement of an air shipment. This includes managing communications connections, network protocol conversions, industry standard message format translation and transformation as well as Internet applications designed to take the place of machine-to-machine interfaces.
