Luxembourg, March 9, 2015 - Effective May 1, 2015 carriers flying to or via the USA will need to file their pre-arrival declarations to the new Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) which replaces the legacy Air Automated Manifest System (Air-AMS). The transition from Air-AMS to ACE demands changes to business processes and CBP Air Manifest Interface Requirements (CAMIR) documentation, including greater levels of validation on the data submitted by the carriers. Therefore it is critically important that data is correct at the time of filing to avoid non-compliance problems.

ACE is designed to enhance border security while facilitating trade. By the end of 2016, ACE will become the Single Window - the primary system through which the trade community will report imports and exports and the government will determine admissibility. Electronic air manifest filing is part of the system.

CHAMP’s Traxon Global Customs (TGC) service is a one-stop, global solution for advance customs information and electronic air manifest filing. The USA is just one of an increasing number of countries demanding Advance Electronic Information (AEI) for customs pre-arrival filing. CHAMP’s TGC supports and simplifies compliance with these legal requirements for airlines, ground handlers and forwarders with a global freight presence.

Nicholas Xenocostas, VP eCargo Services at CHAMP commented “Our commitment towards providing world class cargo compliance solutions continues with our further investment in our TGC service. Integrating ACE into our global platform further enables our customers to maximise compliance cost effectively.”

Over 100 carriers and handlers already deploy CHAMP’s TGC to comply with customs requirements in the 28 countries of the European Union, Norway and Switzerland, Argentina, Bangladesh, Canada, Ethiopia, India, Israel, Liberia, Mexico, Nigeria, and Trinidad & Tobago. Users benefit from a lower risk of blocked freight and knowing that they are legally compliant. Cargo airlines can confidently and safely  exchange information electronically with various country customs authorities via CHAMP’s TGC service regardless of format, communications protocols and processing rules. And the platform is continually expanded to meet new country customs’ requirements. It is now ACE ready so that customers can meet the May 1, 2015 deadline.
