Headquartered in Luxembourg, we have over 400 employees located in offices in London, Zurich, Manila and Frankfurt, as well as Atlanta, and Singapore.

We are currently looking for a Systems Administrator (12-month Fixed Term Contract) to join the team.

He/ She will overall manage the day-to-day operations of our two data centers and backup systems. This role involves ensuring smooth operation, maintenance, and future planning of critical infrastructure, requiring deep technical expertise and the ability to resolve issues promptly.

 

 

Responsibilities

Backup Systems Management

  • Oversee and maintain Veritas NetBackup systems, including associated backup servers and storage.
  • Perform routine checks, updates, maintenance, and troubleshooting to prevent data loss and system failures.
  • Apply patches and ensure backup operations function seamlessly.

Data Center Operations

  • Support and maintain all the hardware hosted in both data centers.
  • Conduct critical interventions, including connecting new servers and switches and upgrading operating systems, firmware, and drivers.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and networking issues promptly to maintain system integrity and uptime.

Incident Response and Problem Solving

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for system malfunctions or network issues, ensuring incidents are resolved swiftly.
  • Work closely with the teams to resolve day-to-day incidents and prevent disruptions to operations.

Planning and Documentation

  • Plan for the future capacity and technology needs of data centers and backup systems.
  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, and processes.

Business-as-Usual (BAU) Tasks

  • Execute the commissioning and decommissioning of systems, ensuring seamless integration into infrastructure.
  • Safely decommission retired equipment following the “CHAMP Asset Management Policy”
  • Perform routine tasks to ensure data center and backup operations remain efficient and reliable.

Team Collaboration and Coverage

  • Support the team in managing operations and resolving incidents.
  • Ensure consistent coverage to prevent delays and maintain operational efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong technical knowledge of infrastructure, hardware, networking, and backup technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and networking issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a focus on planning, documentation, and process improvement.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to team support.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree graduate
  • Extensive experience managing data centers and backup systems, including hands-on expertise with Veritas NetBackup.

The selected candidate may be subject to the provision of an up-to-date (not older than 3 months) criminal record certificate.
