Cargospot PayCargo interface enhanced; now collects handling and flight charges

A recent enhancement allows airlines to collect flight charges through the service, allowing them to reach new customers beyond CASS. The service can also help airlines collect money faster, by having their GSAs use PayCargo as the settlement method.
PayCargo has rapidly become a leading payments provider for air cargo handling. Used by over 50,000 users, it has processed over 3 million transactions worth over $10bn. One reason for that success is its business model. Vendors such as handlers and airlines do not pay for the service, and they get paid almost immediately. Their clients, such as forwarders, generally pay a small, fixed charge irrespective of the amount, and save time through on-line processing and faster collections.

Reach new customers beyond CASS

The Cargospot PayCargo interface has been working for over three years and currently processes over 3,000 transactions per week to collect handling charges. A recent enhancement allows airlines to collect flight charges through the service, allowing them to reach new customers beyond CASS. The service can also help airlines collect money faster, by having their GSAs use PayCargo as the settlement method.

How does the interface between PayCargo and Cargospot work?

The invoicing lifecycle starts with the handler or airline creating an invoice in Cargospot. If the customer is a PayCargo customer, a pop-up asks the operator whether they would like to invoice through PayCargo. If so, the details are sent to PayCargo and show in the customer’s PayCargo dashboard where they simply click to pay.

Customers can pay through PayCargo using credit cards, pre-paid wallets, or bank direct debits, and in multiple currencies. PayCargo confirms payments instantly and pays vendors usually within a day. The payment is immediately recorded in Cargospot, allowing the cargo to be released.

Eliminating the need for import invoices

An optional feature allows a PayCargo user to trigger an Estimated Draft invoice. This eliminates the effort by a handler of creating import invoices when charges are standard. A Cargospot user will still review and finalize the invoice before delivery.
