Development Team Lead

The role will report to the Head of Product Regulatory Compliance

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of developers, encouraging skill growth and career development.
  • Project Management: Oversee project scope, timelines, and deliverables; ensure adherence to project deadlines and high-quality standards.
  • Technical Direction: Drive architecture, design, and development best practices; make decisions on tech stack, frameworks, and development approaches.
  • Code Quality Assurance: Conduct regular code reviews, ensure adherence to coding standards, and maintain high code quality and security standards.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Act as the main point of contact between the development team and stakeholders, providing clear updates, managing expectations, and communicating progress.
  • Agile Methodology: Facilitate agile processes such as sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and ensure efficient sprint cycles.
  • Innovation & Improvement: Continuously identify areas for improvement, including optimizing processes, improving system performance, and adopting new technologies.

Education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in languages and frameworks such as Java, .NET, C++, or Python, and familiarity with modern front-end frameworks.
  • Agile Mindset: Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience leading agile development teams.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to overcoming technical challenges.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Industry Knowledge: Profound knowledge in the cargo or logistics industry is a plus but not required.
  • Specific Knowledge: In depths knowledge about CHAMPs Customs & Security eCargo services.
