Project Manager

Reporting to Director Delivery

Location:   Spain  (Preferred)

While Spain is the preferred location for this role, we embrace a flexible approach and welcome applications from talented professionals based in the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, subject to local employment requirements.

Publication Date:  13/08/2026

If you apply, please include your CV.

As a Project Manager you will drive a variety of project initiatives that meets the needs of our customer base. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with colleagues and customers located worldwide. Success in this role means you pay attention to detail, be time sensitive, possess influencing skills and enjoy working with others of diverse backgrounds.

Accountable as the single owner of the project for its scope, schedule, cost, risk, and commercial outcome, from the point of commitment through go-live to an accepted transition into operational support.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects - Project size will vary in scope and complexity. Manage the project throughout its life cycle - from inception through project closure. Manage change, mitigate risks, and deliver results to stakeholders and customers alike. Attention to detail, effective time management and influencing people skills are key ingredients to be successful in managing projects.
  • Working with project teams - Every project is completed through team effort. You work effectively with team members that may be local or distant. You regularly track project activities against plan schedules and take corrective action on any deviations. You communicate with team members, management, stakeholders, and customers regularly and frequently, ensuring that there is continuous understanding and alignment regarding the project’s progress.
  • Working with customers - Committed to putting the customer first. As a result, you proactively work with the customers and their teams to ensure that each project goal and objective is met with satisfaction.
  • Project Management administration - Ability to write clearly and simply are key skills to documenting project activities. Documentation ranges from developing communications strategy plans, designing resource and project plans, providing status reports, submitting, and tracking change requests, tracking risks and issues, providing variance reports to providing Steering Committee reports and lessons learned. Accuracy is key.
  • Own the project's financial position, not only its cost: forecast to completion, margin, and the billing and cash consequences of schedule movement.
  • Convert a contractual commitment and an approved solution design into a single plan and hold that plan as the reference against which every change is assessed and priced.
  • Secure partner capacity ahead of the commitment: resource readiness, skills, and availability
  • Direct work delivered by contracted third parties against deliverables rather than against effort.
  • Manage scope creep via agreed change request process.
  • Plan and execute the production cutover and the data migration, including rehearsal, fallback position, and readiness criteria.
  • Plan and complete the transition of the delivered solution into the operational support organization and remain accountable until it is accepted there.
  • Where accountability for a dependency sits outside the project, secure a named owner and a date rather than recording it as a risk.
  • Prepare and present decision material for customers and internal governance carrying a recommendation.
  • Distinguish a deliverable that is complete from one that is nearly complete and decline to report the second as the first.
  • Mentor, coach, and give direct feedback to the coordinators and associates working on the project.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Have a good understanding of project management methodologies and the project life cycle.
  • Can demonstrate attention to detail, strong writing ability and solid oration and follow up skills.
  • Domain: air cargo operational understanding.
  • Financial control: forecasts to completion and explains variance by cause.
  • Commercial awareness: knows what a change request or scope creep is worth and how to manage it.
  • Dependency management: drives outcomes through teams and across organizations.
  • Negotiation and escalation: escalates early, with options and a recommendation.
  • Leadership: holds a team to committed dates without becoming the single point through which all coordination passes; mentor and coach to teams.
  • Team skills: works effectively with analysts, engineers and quality specialists who do not report to the role.
  • Excellence: evidence precedes assertion; reporting is a reality.

Education and Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Formal project management training or certification
  • Risk management training desirable.
  • Have a track record of success in managing multiple projects of varying sizes, complexities, budgets, and deliverables within a commercial environment.
  • Have experience speaking in front of executives and senior management.
  • Ideally, have experience with an IT solutions or airline industry solutions provider.
  • Participation in all phases of at least two full software implementation lifecycles, from commitment through go-live and transition into support.
  • Delivery where part of build or test capacity was contracted rather than employed.
  • Experience managing a fixed-price or milestone-based commercial construct.
  • Experience of owning a cutover and a data migration outcome.
  • Air cargo, airline, or logistics operational environment.

The selected candidate may be subject to the provision of an up-to-date (not older than 3 months)  criminal record certificate.
