The QA Engineer role provides feedback on the quality of a product to help in the continuous development, efficiency and effectiveness of the service and product. He develops, publishes, and implements planned tests for complex, multi-tier, distributed, applications throughout the full lifecycle of the software and documents test results.
Furthermore, this role identifies and addresses various problems in the products and improvement of various procedures and outcome.
Responsibilities:

Apply established QA methodologies and proactively identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and quality risks within their assigned projects or areas of responsibility
a. Suggests new tools and techniques, or process and procedures to improve testing efficiency.
- Proactively identify, assess, and prioritize product and project risks within their assigned scope.
- Create the applicable comprehensive test cases and scenarios for manual, or non-functional testing in support of the project and/or development schedule, whichever is applicable
a. liaise with the business analysts and project owner to ensure alignment of scope and
testing
b. prepare individual detailed test estimates based on the requirement
c. create test matrices, requirement traceability matrices, test cases and test scripts
d. identify high-value candidates for automation and contribute to automation design
where applicable

Perform test activities to meet project delivery in compliance with the Company’s QA test methodology and discipline:
a. executes the applicable manual, automated, functional, or non-functional tests with a focus on uncovering high-impact defects
b. analyze test results, root causes of functional or performance issues, recommend corrective actions
c. work closely with development teams to validate fixes and ensure defect resolution addresses underlying causes, not just symptoms

Generate status and summary reports a. ensure that all progress, delays, risks, and issues are correctly reflected in all status reports and communicated to Team Lead, Scrum Master, and/or QA Manager

Assist in the preparation of documentation materials for user manuals/ system manuals.

Take ownership of assigned modules/features, ensuring end-to-end quality validation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) with emphasis on analytical test design and risk-based testing
- Working knowledge in different testing methodologies: Blackbox, Graybox, regression, functional, exploratory
- Proven ability to design effective test cases by analyzing requirements, edge cases, and system behavior.
- Strong defect analysis and root cause identification skills.
- Experience in test management, execution tracking, and quality reporting.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Working knowledge in automation and non-functional testing methodologies (volume, load, stress) is an advantage
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Law, Risk Management, or related field
- 7-10 years of experience expected
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, ISO27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer, or CRISC.
- Experience in multinational compliance environments.
- Familiarity with cloud compliance frameworks (e.g., CSA STAR, ISO/IEC 27017 & 27018, SOC2 for SaaS provider).
The selected candidate may be subject to the provision of an up-to-date (not older than 3 months) criminal record certificate.
