The Senior Business Analyst/ Solution Architect identifies and understands business issues and processes. The role defines documents customer needs to produce functional requirements and provide functional subject matter expertise for internally and to customer. The role provides comprehensive test cases and oversees thorough testing compliant with CHAMP's business processes.
The Senior Business Analyst/ Solution Architect validates and improves customer requirements by verifying adherence to required functionality in delivered solutions, conducting user acceptance testing, managing customer change requests and providing the customer with ways to improve their processes by effectively using CHAMP's applications.
Accountable for an end-to-end solution design, approved by the customer, delivered as specified, evidenced against the agreed requirements, and transition of the delivered solution into the operational support organization.
Responsibilities:
- Represent CHAMP in internal and external groups from pre-sales to post sales and customer acceptance testing.
- Analyze and document customer requirements and business process.
- Perform functional gap analysis with respect to standard product offerings at pre- and post-sales.
- Provide insight to management on ability and timeframes for delivery against identified product gaps.
- Prepare specifications to provide accurate statements of work on Bid win or for change requests.
- Liaise with Engineering teams to determine effort, feasibility, scheduling, etc. Provide input to bid team for pre-sales activities (e.g., customer proposals generation, risk analysis, pricing, customer presentations, site surveys, work breakdown structures etc.).
- Assist in the management of customers’ technical expectations.
- Confirm and negotiate functional specifications upon activation of a project.
- Act as recognized functional subject matter expert across the air cargo operational value chain, including but not limited to booking and capacity, export and import handling, ground handling and warehouse operations, documentation and customs compliance, rating, billing and revenue accounting, and be credible on process with the customer's operations leadership.
- Own the end-to-end solution design for the engagement and remain accountable through go-live and the functional handover to the Customer Service management team.
- Lead fit-gap analysis and present the recommended solution position, including the cost and operational impact of each proposed deviation from the standard product.
- Facilitate design workshops to a decision: close each open point with a named owner, a decision and a recorded rationale.
- Hold the agreed scope under commercial and customer pressure; escalate rather than concede where a request cannot be met within the agreed solution.
- Represent the functional requirement set to the product organization and carry the product organization's position back to the customer without distortion.
- Support the customer in preparing the test scenarios.
- Coordinate securing test data from client for build testing and user acceptance testing.
- Manage and/or monitor testing for compliance with agreed specifications.
- Secure sign-off of user acceptance testing.
- Provide customer sponsorship by ensuring their requirements are delivered as per their specification with respect to being involved in the build process.
- Continuously refresh knowledge of CHAMP products. Analyze, assess, develop, devise, plan, negotiate and present modern implementations for client sites.
- Ensure highest level of quality is achieved within assignments at all times.
- Provide guidance / mentoring to other business analysts in order to improve the knowledge and skills within the team.
- Certify that the delivered solution — configuration and customization together — matches the scope agreed with the customer, on evidence rather than assertion.
- Co-approve readiness for customer acceptance testing with the quality assurance function.
- Deliver customer familiarization training on the standard solution ahead of design, adapting the provided materials to the customer's operational context.
- Deliver key user training ahead of user acceptance testing and confirm the customer's users are ready to test.

- Commercial judgement: sizes effort realistically; selects the most time- and cost-efficient solution that meets the requirement; understands and can articulate the cost consequence of a deviation from standard.
- Leadership: sets the analysis and documentation standard for the pillar; reviews the work of others; develops the grades below.
- Team skills: operates as a working triad with the project manager and the lead engineer.
- Excellence: confirmation is evidence-based, never assumed; audit-ready documentation as a default, not on request.
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or Engineering.
- +8 years’ experience in business analysis including experience of building user cases.
- Experience in using the Business Process Modeling tools is preferred.
- Deep subject matter expertise across the air cargo operational value chain, with recognized depth in at least two areas.
- Participation in all phases of at least two full software implementation lifecycles.
- Experience working with partners or offshore build teams.
