Responsibilities
- Translate design specifications into clean, performant, and maintainable code using software engineering standards; design and build backend services, frontends, and REST API integrations.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Product Owners, Team Leads, Business Analysts, and Technical Support to deliver integrated solutions and resolve technical issues.
- Perform varied roles across system analysis, design, program coding, testing, and production support as needed to meet project plans.
- Champion code quality practices, perform and assist in unit test execution, and prepare thorough technical project documentation.
- Mentor team members on best practices and ensure compliance with software engineering methodologies.
- Participate in system migration planning and execution, and provide on-site or off-site support for production systems.
- Ensure all active programs, technical challenges, and project statuses are accurately documented in status reports.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong competence in Java coding best practices, design patterns, and REST APIs. Experience or familiarity with Spring Boot, JPA, XML, Swing, RMI, Hibernate, EJB, Angular, Ionic, IBM MQ, or Kafka is a plus.
- Proven SQL skills across databases such as Oracle DBMS, MS SQL Server, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
- Strong working knowledge of Scrum/Agile frameworks and DevOps practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and a good command of the English language (spoken and written).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field of study.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Java development.
- Experience using tools like SVN, Tortoise, Eclipse, Maven, Ant, Gitlab, or Bamboo across Linux, Windows, and AWS environments.
The selected candidate may be subject to the provision of an up-to-date (not older than 3 months) criminal record certificate.
