Overview
CHAMP CargoSystems is one of the world’s leading providers of innovative IT logistics solutions to the global air cargo industry. Headquartered in Luxembourg, we have over 500 employees located in offices in London, Zurich, Manila, Frankfurt, as well as Atlanta, Singapore, and Beijing.

Our global Enterprise and IT Solutions business is focused on delivering excellence in IT solutions to our customers. Primarily located in London, Luxembourg, and Manila, we are a diverse team of highly trained team members who pride ourselves on delighting the customer.

The System Engineer Monitoring is responsible for managing the CHAMP monitoring and alerting systems, with both roles of support / BAU/rollout of standard monitoring solutions and implementing ad-hoc or new ones. He/she will mainly work on the key solutions in use at CHAMP: SolarWinds (system monitoring), Nagios (system monitoring), Dynatrace (application monitoring), and Resolve (to achieve automation and alerting integration with ServiceNow).

He/she will be responsible for providing monthly availability reports for CHAMP products from the data available on the monitoring. He/she will participate in any project at CHAMP linked to new business requests or to new solutions to be monitored. He/she will apply the correct monitoring templates based on the solution as defined by the Technical Architects. He/she will have self-initiative to propose new and/or improve current solutions in place in the optic of a “continuous improvement process”, reviewing and checking the systems in place.

He/she will have to coordinate the monthly maintenance window interventions: make sure that the tasks are executed as defined, within the specified timeframe, and that the systems are available before and after the intervention by checking that the monitoring dashboard is green and no critical alert is pending.

  •  Plan regular application upgrades of monitoring software and regular OS updates of monitoring servers
  • Write documentation, procedures, and create reports
  • Analyze and investigate false-positive alerts that are reported: make sure that thresholds for alerts are adjusted so that the teams are only alerted when issue is critical.
  • Coordinate CHAMP's monthly planned interventions and make sure that monitoring of the services behaves as expected.
  • Provide automated monthly SLA reports to our Service Managers from our monitoring events.
  • Execute regular disaster testing on our Monitoring infra components.
