Senior IT System Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Support CHAMP’s applications
  • With the team, support and further develop our processes automation with Jenkins, Ansible or RH Satellite
  • Maintain our Java Application on Linux (Redhat 7/8/9)
  • Linux system administration
  • Validate requirements and perform software installations and upgrades on CHAMP JAVA build applications
  • Accompany a future DEVOPS transition
  • Assist and provide technical information as required to other teams, typically security team or development team
  • Bridge with development and technical teams on technical related issues
  • Write documentation and procedures as necessary

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Broad experience in diagnosing and resolving infrastructure issues related to java application, and enjoys solving complex technical problems
  • Broad experience in Linux-based OS, Java, python and shell scripting; application server administration (Tomcat)
  • Broad experience in building Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines (Jenkins, Bamboo, GIT Ansible; ELK)
  • Experience in Logging, Monitoring, Alerting and Incident Response Tools
  • Exposure to Oracle database and Webswing software technology is a plus
  • Good ability to communicate with external and internal customers and IT colleagues across different locations, time zones and cultures,
  • Good communication and presentation skills related to IT related matters,
  • Able to work autonomously and be flexible with regards to working hours (including Monthly Maintenance participation and on-call)
  • Service and customer oriented
  • Very good English verbal and written communication skills, including writing technical documentation

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience with Redhat Linux
